Coaching kids

Last week I had the privilege of coaching some young kids, not only in soccer, but also in life skills. And I got to do this with one of my nephews, which made it even more impacting. Even though it was exhausting coaching 8-10 year olds in how to behave and how to play soccer, it was worth it to see their behavior improve by the end of the week. It made me realize the lack of discipline in many children’s lives these days. They have a hard time respecting their elders, treating their peers with kindness, and many of them are just not happy kids.

I wish more parents would instill in their children respect, kindness, contentment, gratefulness, joy, obedience and honesty.
