Resourcefulness + Creativity = Joy

Seeing that I live on an island and the nearest store to pick up some organizational, household items is an hour ferry ride away and costs about $60 round trip (which includes ferry and taxis). I often have the opportunity to use my brain and think of ways to be resourceful and mix in a whole lot of creativity to make it my style.  My roomy and I have been collecting new recipes since living here and now that we have 20+ recipes we have transferred the loose pieces of paper from a slot on a shelf to their very own box (tupperware). So, instead of letting the recipe box become a cluster cuss of chaos, my roomy put me in charge of doing what I love to do; organize.

Instead of going with just the plain old notecards to set up categories, I decided to use some old postcards of my photography.  I have had them sitting in my drawer for months, so they have now been put to great use.  I made a list of our recipe categories and made sure each postcard was clearly and colorfully marked. Being resourceful and using a big dose of creativity has become an everyday routine for us here. Hope this inspires you to get more resourceful and creative with what is in your house!
